Mps, instant bank transfers on the way: Nexi platform chosen

Mps has chosen Nexi to launch the instant bank transfer service. From February, customers of the Tuscan bank and of Widiba will be able to make or receive transfers in a few moments, every day, 24 hours a day, in all 24 countries in the Sepa area. Individuals and businesses will therefore be able to settle purchases and sales in real time, make urgent payments, and have immediate confirmation of the receipt of a sale. The only condition will concern the amount: the maximum limit is set at 15 thousand euros.

The Instant Payment service will be available immediately from Digital Banking and will gradually be extended to all the bank's device channels.

“Thanks to the agreement with Eba Clearing and the connection with Tips (Target Instant Payment Settlement), in fact, the Nexi platform allows you to reach all Italian and European banks who have activated the instant bank transfer service”, reads the joint note from Nexi and Mps.

“The instant bank transfer strengthens the partnership with PayTech in a context of rapid evolution of payment systems, allowing the Montepaschi Group to guarantee increasingly efficient services to its customers and allowing Nexi to consolidate its role as a company specialized in digital payments at the service of banks in our country”, continues the note from the two companies.

"With the instant bank transfer service, the Montepaschi Group strengthens its competitive positioning, enriching the range of solutions available to its customers for making payments, receiving and transferring sums of money.” said Giampiero Bergami, chief commercial officer of Banca Monte dei Paschi.

“We are satisfied that the Montepaschi Group has also chosen our instant bank transfer platform: testify our ability to offer Italian banks cutting-edge solutions which help them seize new business opportunities and guarantee tangible benefits to their customers” – commented Renato Martini, digital banking solutions director of Nexi.

In the meantime a Business Square, the Nexi share travels to the top of the Ftse Mib, with an increase of more than 4%. The shares, which have gained 24,6% in the last month, are still driven by the hypothesis of an imminent marriage with Sia. The Monte dei Paschi share instead rose by 0,8% to 1,801 euro, putting behind it the stock market difficulties experienced after the publication of the accounts.
