Monti: "I will leave the government to others"

"I hope to leave a country a little less resigned and a little more reassured", added the Prime Minister from the International Cooperation Forum in Milan - Shortly before the president of Confindustria Giorgio Squinzi had approved the hypothesis of a Monti-bis : "That's fine for me, but the legitimacy of the vote is needed".

Monti: "I will leave the government to others"

The government "will switch to others in the coming months". So today the premier Mario Monti he has once again distanced himself from the possibility that the political forces will renew his mandate at Palazzo Chigi after the vote. "I hope to leave a country that is a little less resigned and a little more relaxed", added the Prime Minister speaking at the International Cooperation Forum inaugurated today in Milan.

The debate on the possibility of a Monti-bis flared up after last week from New York the Professor expressed his willingness to support the country, if necessary, also in the next legislature. A hypothesis that today has also collected the approval of Giorgio Squinzi, president of Confindustria, on the condition that first we go to the polls: "That's fine for me, but I repeat that I believe that first we need a passage with the legitimacy of the vote".

Meanwhile, in the center there is clearly a front in favor of a second appointment by the current Premier. Yesterday Luca Cordero di Montezomolo he announced that, even without running as a candidate, he will take the field in the electoral match by suggesting candidates from "Future Italy" for a possible list or lists in support of Monti. A few hours later too Gianna Fini e Pier Ferdinando Casini have expressed themselves in the same direction.
