Ukrainian wine in the glasses of Mondial des Vins Extremes: an exclusive tasting of Wines of Ukraine, on the occasion of the selections of the 30th edition of Mondial des Vins Extrêmes, the wine competition organized by Cervim and dedicated to heroic viticulture in Sarre (Valle d'Aosta), had as protagonist Victoria Agromakova, Ukrainian sommelier and CEO of Wine&Spirits Ukraine; supported by Gianluca Arcaro sommelier AIS Valle d'Aosta and Roberto Gaudio, board of Cervim

For Cervim president Stefano Celi it was “A moment of high symbolic value for the current situation that Ukraine is experiencing, for over seven months militarily invaded which embellished the 30th edition of the only international competition dedicated to heroic wines. And among other things, among the new countries taking part in the Mondial, we had the participation of Ukrainian wines”.

Once again this year in Ukraine the harvest has taken place and we are thinking about the aftermath of the invasion

“It was a particular tasting – adds Roberto Gaudio, Cervim board of directors – both for its significance in this historical moment, and because the Mondial jurors were able to learn about the viticulture of a country like Ukraine, which before the conflict started last February, it was undoubtedly growing both in terms of production and quality. It was possible thanks to the presence in Valle d'Aosta of the Ukrainian sommelier Agromakova, who arrived directly from Kyiv, who guided us in the discovery of her country's viticulture”.

"Even this year, as far as possible, the harvest has taken place, the winemakers are carrying on with their work” Agromakova said which explained the current moment of viticulture in Ukraine, and how it will change in the future after the armed invasion of Russia. Furthermore, he illustrated the main characteristics of the Ukrainian vineyard and of the wines for tasting.

Five wines tasted: the Brut Nature Rose 2019 from the 46Parallel Wine company; The Telti Kuruk 2021  and Artania Reserve 2018 of the Beykush Winery; The Cabernet-Sauvignon 2017 of the Shabo; The Troyanda Karpat 2017 of Château Chizay.
