PDL ministers: "Resignation ok, but let's not be intimidated"

The Government falls apart, the PDL perhaps. At Palazzo Chigi “they have arrived the irrevocable resignation of ministers Angelino Alfano, Nunzia De Girolamo, Beatrice Lorenzin, Maurizio Lupi and Gaetano Quagliariello". The presidency of the Council reports it in a note.

The farewell of the five Pidiellini ministers to the Executive was decided by Silvio Berlusconi, who announced it two days ago, effectively opening the government crisis. However, the Knight hadn't bothered to warn those directly concerned in advance, who, despite complete obedience to Arcore's orders, did not fail to express your disappointment.

In a joint note, the outgoing ministers this morning said that with them "the Boffo method won't work”. The reference is to the harsh attack against them that came from the columns of "Il Giornale" in an editorial signed by Alessandro Sallusti, director of Berlusconi's masthead. “If he thinks he's intimidating us and free confrontation within our political movement, he's very wrong – continues the note from the ministers – If you intend to frighten us with the comparison to Gianfranco Fini, know that you will not have houses in Montecarlo on which to build countryside ”.

Meanwhile, the lunch between Berlusconi and the other representatives of the PDL in the Executive has begun at Palazzo Grazioli. At 17 a very delicate event should take place meeting of parliamentary groups, but it is not excluded that at the last minute the appointment is postponed until tomorrow. For his part, Prime Minister Enrico Letta – advised by the Head of State – has chosen to take time and appear in the Chambers to verify the holding of the majority only on Wednesday, instead of tomorrow, as initially established.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party attacks its adversaries-allies in no uncertain terms: “The center-right is blowing up the country – said the Democratic secretary Guglielmo Epifani to the microphones of Radio 24 –. It was clear that in the face of such a sensational instability the spread would restart”.

As for the near future, “I don't hope for the elections, but I don't fear them – added Epifani -. This must be our attitude. But we are ready for anything." In any case, the Pd secretary says "no to a small government that finds a few votes from defectors and lives a stunted life".
