Metroweb and ultra-broadband, the Government to Telecom: 15 days to find an agreement

Matteo Renzi want to tighten on ultra-wide band and after last week's meetings he wants to close the game on Metroweb, the company controlled by F2i and Cdp and chaired by Franco Bassanini which will act as a vehicle for the development of the new generation telecommunications network.

After last week's meetings at Palazzo Chigi with the top management of Telecom Italia, represented by Giuseppe Recchi and Marco Patuano, and by Vodafone, represented by Vittorio Colao and Aldo Bisio, Renzi, who makes use of the advice of the supermanager in this game Andrea Guerra, he said flatly that there is no more time to lose and that he wants a definitive and shared solution on the corporate structure of Metroweb within 15 days, i.e. by the end of the month.

In essence, the Premier urged Telecom to give a short answer on the possibility of cohabiting with the other operators in Metroweb without making hegemonic claims that would be denied by the Antitrust.

Awaiting a response from the largest Italian telecommunications company, Vodafone continues its negotiations with Metroweb and is preparing to present its industrial plan and the details of the investments planned for the new network by May.
