Bad weather increasing over most of the peninsula. Civil protection is issuing numerous press releases to launch the weather alert for the evening of Thursday 1st and all day of Friday 2nd October. The rain started to fall heavily on the Sardinia since the early hours of Thursday. And the situation is expected to worsen in the next few hours: the Mediterranean cyclone will cross the island and therefore more rains and heavy showers are expected throughout the region. In particular, a further intensification of the phenomena between Gallura, Ogliastra and Costa Smeralda is expected in the evening and at night with accumulations that can reach and exceed 150 mm.
Alert also in Sicilia where strong thunderstorms are expected especially on the Ionian part of the Region. In the evening of Thursday 1 October, the weather should worsen more markedly also in the northern regions, with abundant phenomena on Liguria, Piedmont, and western Emilia.
During the night and in particular on Friday 2 October, more intense phenomena are expected also on Lazio, coasts of Campania and Tuscany, especially the Grosseto area. In fact, in the Tyrrhenian Sea, there is a vast storm cloud that is moving threateningly towards the north / east and will cause heavy rains in the next few hours on the central Tyrrhenian regions, where it has already been raining lightly or moderately since this morning.
To further complicate the Friday of Roman citizens will be public transports strike. Initially called by 10 trade unions, after the step back of 9 of them, the strike will affect only the workers of UBS in Rome. Employees will cross their arms from 8.30 to 17 and from 20 at the end of the service. All public transport in the capital will be affected: trams, buses and the underground.
Finally, two protest marches are also scheduled for tomorrow in Rome: one of the students who leaves at 9.30 from the Pyramid and one at 17 from the Colosseum.
