Mediaset, Vivendi rises to 28,8%. Biscione reports to Consob

The climb of the French group Vivendi to Mediaset never stops. Just today the representatives of the Biscione exposed the details of the affair to Consob, but with closed markets (today in Piazza Affari Mediaset collapsed by 12,4%) came the news of a further strengthening of the Bollorè media group, which now holds 28,8% of the share capital and 29,94% of the voting rights of Mediaset. Just 10 days ago, Vivendi had a share of just 3%, which gradually rose to approach 30%.

"We have explained the facts, we have reconstructed the story from the beginning, but it was already clear enough," said Marco Giordani, CFO of the Cologno Monzese group, as he left the offices of the Stock Exchange Commission in Milan. When asked whether the hypotheses that led to the complaint to Consob remain that Vivendi may have forfeited the purchase of Premium to reduce the stock and buy it at a lower price, Giordani replied: “These are personal considerations. The facts are what you know, there is someone who has to judge”.

The CFO of Mediaset had then added that requests for an extraordinary meeting have not arrived from Vivendi ("as far as I know, no", he said). And he explained that he had not brought new documentation to the commission today. Finally, to those who asked him if he expected Vivendi to launch a takeover bid: "You don't have to ask me", he replied.
