Made in Italy: the Zetagi-Veneziani paint factory becomes Israeli

Colorificio Zetagi passes to the Tambour company, the main Israeli manufacturer of special paints for the aeronautical, naval, construction and transport sectors. Not only that: together with 100% of the capital, Tambour also took over 100% of the Vicenza-based company from Veneto Banca, with the help of Swiss Merchant Corporation, a corporate finance boutique in Lugano led by Francesco Caputo Nassetti. The share was sold by the private equity fund APE Limited Partnership.

Colorificio Zetagi, based in Olmo di Creazzo (Vicenza), was founded in 1957 and over the years has expanded by acquiring other brands including, in 2011, the historic Veneziani company, the oldest in the anticorrosive and naval paints sector, founded in 1863. Zetagi special paints were used in the construction of marine platforms and major works including the Juventus Stadium, the Diamante Tower in Milan, the futuristic high-speed station in Afragola (NA) designed by the starchitect Zaha Hadid and the new stations of Torino Porta Susa and Roma Tiburtina. Today the Vicenza-based company employs 56 people and has a turnover of around 15 million euros.

Tambour, founded in 1936, produces advanced building materials and special paints for civil and military aircraft, ships and means of transport. The company, a market leader in Israel, is controlled by the Kusto Group, an international conglomerate with global stakes in the construction, infrastructure and energy sectors. In Israel, Tambour has manufacturing facilities in Ashkelon in the western Negev, in Acre along the country's north coast, and on Kibbutz Gesher near Lake Tiberias. The company has a turnover of approximately 200 million dollars; its commercial network extends to Eastern Europe, Greece, Vietnam, South Africa and the USA.
