Man at the center of Industry 4.0 for a contemporary factory

Signed at MECSPE the agreement between Senaf and the Design Department of the Milan Polytechnic for a research project on the new spaces of the Factory of the future

Man at the center of Industry 4.0 for a contemporary factory

Agreement signed between Senaf, organizer of MECSPE (Fiere di Parma, 22-24 March 2018), and the Design Department of the Milan Polytechnic, on the occasion of the opening of the reference event of manufacturing 4.0, now in its seventeenth edition. Inside the conferenceMECSPE Laboratories Digital Factory, The Italian way for industry 4.0”, it was in fact announced the start of an assignment that Senaf entrusts to the great Milanese university for research in the field of new environments for the contemporary factory called “Workspaces 4.0".

The research program will lead to the elaboration of a study articulated on the following points:
– State of the art: literature on new spaces for the contemporary factory;
– Significant examples and good practices in the national and international context;
– Interviews with privileged interlocutors and visits to significant cases;
– Hypotheses related to future scenarios.

"With MECSPE in the last year we have started a culture journey of industry 4.0 with testimonies of the transformation process underway in our country which have led, in the last stage of the Digital Factory laboratories, to a reflection on the centrality of man in the factory of the future – commented Emilio Bianchi, Director of Senaf – This is why we feel the need to tackle, together with an authoritative partner such as the Design Department of the Milan Polytechnic, with whom we share the same vision, an in-depth study on the parameters of the spaces of the factory that can accommodate man as a fulcrum and protagonist. The common path also includes activities on the new forms of the man-machine interface and will continue until next year”.

“The research project devised with Senaf, which aims to define the new scenarios of the factory spaces, represents a first step in analyzing how digital transformation is changing working environments and better understanding what the place of man is in the new context that is being created – commented Silvia Piardi, Director of the Design Department of the Milan Polytechnic and President of the Italian University Conference of Design – The trajectory of the research will start from the study of the current situation and then outline the good practices in Italy and abroad and outline the future scenario”.
