The latest fashion at the table? Cannabis oil

One of the recently launched ones is called Extrabis, it is produced in Liguria and is a normal extra virgin olive oil, flavored with extracts of legal hemp – Normal, but with great beneficial qualities: here are the ones.

The new extra virgin olive oil flavored with… cannabis comes from Liguria, the land of the Taggiasca olive (typical of the Argentina Valley, in the province of Imperia). Obviously it won't be like smoking a joint: Extrabis it remains a normal cooking oil, flavored however with a hemp extract, given that always in Liguria, in addition to Roi oil of Badalucco, the historic brand that produces theTaggiasca Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a new reality has just arrived, Sunremo Lab, a young farm specialized in the cultivation of hemp.

A market which among other things in Italy, thanks to very favorable climatic and soil conditions, especially in the North, has until recently recorded a real boom, after the European standards have cleared the production of 69 varieties, which unlike those used for "traditional" marijuana are devoid of the active psychotropic substance (Thc) and therefore legal for various uses, from therapeutic to commercial and food.

Indeed, the Ministry of Health has also recognized the beneficial qualities of legal hemp, and this has encouraged the proliferation of innovative experiences such as that of Extrabis, recently presented in preview at Tuttofood in Milan and the result of the close collaboration between Olio Roi and Sunremo Lab: the oil comes from the ROI mill (historic nickname of the Boeri family) , hemp instead from the old greenhouses of the area, abandoned to themselves after the market crisis of this plant and now brought back to life.

The product therefore presents itself with all the typical properties of that part of the territory, exposed to the sun and the sea breeze, and is distinguished by a herbaceous and fresh scent, with balsamic notes. A genuine and healthy product, because it contains OMEGA 6 and cannabidiol (CBD), which is the second most present substance in cannabis: a non-psychoactive element, which does not create addiction and which, according to an ever increasing number of studies, has efficacy in the treatment of various health problems. It is an anxiolytic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.

The aroma and cannabinoids are extracted in an oil bath with the latest technologies, so that none of the organoleptic characteristics of the ingredients are modified. Excellent to taste raw, in salads, but also very intriguing in the kitchen, for original and innovative recipes: from appetizers to richer dishes, such as borage ravioli, Ligurian rabbit, white meats or toasted bread .
