London, the bicycle is the new frontier of communication

Thanks to the original idea of the startup Old Bond, the bicycle becomes a new advertising communication tool, ecological and tailor-made for each customer - Through the projection of 3D images or videos on the wheels, any message can be conveyed, capturing around the streets the attention of 250 people a day.

London, the bicycle is the new frontier of communication

The bicycle is increasingly the means of the third millennium: not only for transport, but also for communication. At least in London, where thanks to the startup OldBond now even advertising is green. The original idea is best summarized by the slogan of the small ideas boutique company, as she defines herself, founded on 20 June 2012 and already winner of several international awards: “Reinventing the wheel”. Reinventing wheels, precisely those of bicycles, to project images, logos, texts and videos in 3D and thus capture the attention of passers-by throughout the city, or even better in the target areas requested by the customer who wants to promote a product, advertise the opening of new stores, sporting or musical events, shows, movie premieres and why not birthdays, weddings, political slogans and love messages for Valentine's Day.

The whole "environmentally-friendly", without any environmental impact, and with an eye-catching capacity superior to the usual billboards on the streets, which do not enjoy the same visual impact as one or more bicycles whizzing through the streets or which attract the crowd around a stationary show, where the light and image show can be accompanied by hostesses distributing flyers. OldBond has in fact estimated that 60% of pedestrians are attracted by this curious form of advertising interaction, and that a video projected onto a single bicycle touring the streets of a city like London can be seen by 250 people a day, while the percentage of passers-by who willingly stops for stationary performances is as high as 90%.

The new frontier of advertising therefore comes from the City, and it is not said that it is directed only to companies and commercial agents: the "wow-effect", as it is defined on the OldBond website, could also make a fortune for a politician of the elector or of a suitor towards his beloved. One thing is certain, the quality of the product launched by the young London-based factory of ideas is absolutely avant-garde: shock resistant and waterproof, the system is durable, autonomous and suitable for all city climatic situations, and can upload up to 1000 images (70×70 resolution) and videos of over 90 seconds, for the realization of which there is also the support of OldBond technicians. All of which can be monitored 24 hours a day by the customer thanks to the GPS system mounted on the bicycle, which makes the itineraries viewable in real time.
