Letizia Moratti is one step away from replacing Giulio Gallera as health councilor of the Lombardy Region. President of Rai from 1994 to 1996, Minister of Education in the second Berlusconi government (2001-2006), then mayor of Milan from 2006 to 2011 (when the defeat against Giuliano Pisapia denied her a second term), the 71-year-old Moratti would land in the Region with a long-term perspective. It could in fact be her the centre-right candidate for the 2023 regional elections, when the mandate of the Northern League Attilio Fontana will expire.
