Work: 52 ITS graduates are missing

It's hard to find ITS graduates (Higher Technical Institutes). Businesses in 2022 have tried almost 52 thousand graduates ITS Academy without success. Difficulties in finding the 56% of hires for professions. The request for work occurs for all sectors but above all in those related to industrial sector (18.550 requests) and gods business services (17.850 admissions).

To report the situation is Unioncamere that in collaboration with Anpal analyzed data from the 2022 survey of Excelsior information system.

I USEFULL of students leaving ITS they grow slowly compared to the demands of the working world. In 2020, only 5.280 graduates left in 2020. From 2013 to today, around 20.000 students have left ITS overall.

In July 2022, the Higher Technical Institutes were the subject of a important reform within the PNRR. A training model co-designed in close connection between the world of training and businesses that puts young people in direct contact with the most advanced production chains.

The most requested profiles

It is the northwest with 37% of expected income, the area that most requires these graduates, followed by the North-East with 23%, the Center with 21% and the South with 19%.
The region with the most demand is the Lombardia with 13.700 expected admissions, followed by Lazio with 6.200, Veneto 5.300, Emilia-Romagna 4.600 and Piedmont with 4.300.

La mechanics is the sector where it is more request of ITS Academy graduates with approximately 14.300 expected admissions (one third out of a total of approximately 51.600 requests). Followed by the communication sector and the development of software systems with 8.000 requests. The electronic, computer and mechanical area, on the other hand, are the areas with the highest difficulty of finding on the market. There is a shortage, mainly, of electronic technicians, system designers and administrators, and software analysts and designers, and electricians in civil construction.

What are ITSs?

A Higher Technical Institute or Higher Technological Institute is a type of Italian school of high technological specialization, born in 2010, i.e. a non-university post-graduate level training institution. An excellent option to train and prepare for the world of work.

• Information and communication technologies area.

The courses are built through shared and participatory planning with companies and other players in the system. ITS Academy have one duration of 2 or 3 years, are characterized by a strong component of company experience (30% of the training hours must be carried out in internships), and in more than 80% of cases they ensure employment one year after the conclusion of the training course.
