According to the latest Unioncamere-Anpal survey, the demand for skilled workers is growing the most – trade is suffering

Work: 354 open positions in December, 54% precarious

In December, Italian companies are looking for 354 thousand workers, around 52 thousand more (+17,5%) compared to the same period of 2019. In the quarter December 2021 - February 2022, however, companies plan to hire 1,4 million workers (+28,0% year on year ). The numbers are contained in the Bulletin of the Excelsior information system, produced by Unioncamere and Anpal.

The analysis confirms that the majority of contracts offered by companies are Temporary: 190 units, 53,6% of the total. Those indefinitely are less than half, 75 thousand, while the contracts of administration they reach 30 thousand and those of apprenticeship to 16 thousand. Only 7 thousand contracts of collaboration.

In industry, the positive trend of the manufacturing (+26 thousand entries compared to December 2019) and of construction (+8 thousand entries). The Made in Italy sectors are supporting the demand for labour: +9 thousand planned revenues from both industries mechanical and electronic than from those metallurgical and metal products.

On the other hand, the revenues programmed by the companies of the companies grew by 18 thousand units services.

The positive trend of companies also continues transport and logistics (+13 thousand compared to the same period of 2019), while trade (in particular tourism and catering) is below the levels of December 2019 (-5 thousand).

As for the professional figures sought, the demand for is growing the most skilled workers, with an increase of 20 thousand admissions on December 2019. Then follow the operators of plants and workers of fixed and mobile machinery (+15 thousand) and technicians (+5 thousand).

At the territorial level, the activation of contracts comes mainly from companies in the North West, which envisage 122 entries, followed by the North East on an equal footing with the South and Islands (both 85 entries) and finally the Center with 61 entries expected. More specifically, the greatest job opportunities are offered by Lombardy (80 contracts), Veneto (32), Lazio (31), Piedmont (29), Campania (26) and Emilia-Romagna (25).
