SPAIN PASSES THE AUCTION TEST. BAGS OK. MPS, IMPREGILO AND SAIPEM, AN UPWARD THING

Arrive Spain. The happy outcome of the Bonos auction in Madrid restores peace of mind to the markets of the old continent while the ECB directorate is underway in Frankfurt. On the Milan Stock Exchange, the FtseMib index gains 0,64%. Madrid is doing better: +0,99%. London gains 0,05%, Paris +0,25% and Frankfurt +0,21%. The euro is up, trading at 1,356 against the dollar from 1,352 yesterday. During January, the single currency appreciated by 3,6% against the dollar and by 9,5% against the yen.

Spain placed 4,6 billion euros of government bonds this morning, 100 million euros more than the issuance target. Madrid has placed 1,94 billion bonds maturing in 2015 with a yield of 2,83% (from 2,47% in the previous auction) and a bid to cover ratio of 2,2. The market also subscribed 0,59 billion of bonds maturing in 2029 with a yield of 5,78% from 4,84%.

Mount Paschi rises by 4% in the wake of news arriving from CEO Fabrizio Viola's conference call with analysts. "There are no other Santorinis," Viola assured in a conference call with analysts, referring to the derivatives scandal. The structured instruments have been corrected by Montepaschi and "transformed into simple loans". The bank, added the CEO, does not register a flight of deposits. The extinction of the Monti bonds has been postponed to 2016, the chief financial officer Bernardo Mingrone announced in a conference call: it is prudent "to postpone the deadline for repayment by one year", therefore, to 2016.

Impregile it  it rose by 5,66% to 4,046 euros, after Salini announced the launch of a takeover bid on 100% of the capital at 4 euros per share. Leavespem +5,75% after the new surprising announcement by the company (this time positive) which communicated that it had collected new orders for 3,2 billion euro in the last two months.
