The approval of the budget maneuver and the related tax decree, originally scheduled for tonight, is postponed to next Monday, October 21st. This is what Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio anticipated from Luxembourg: "We expect the prison for the great tax evaders to be inserted between now and Monday".
The postponement of the maneuver is linked on the one hand to the need to make ends meet by recovering another 3 billion euros and on the other hand the need to find an agreement on the unresolved issues, ranging from pensions (Quota 100) to funds to cut the tax wedge, from the family fund for a single allowance for children to exceeding the superticket. But one of the exposed nerves is precisely the one indicated by Di Maio on the handcuffs to the tax evaders, as two lines face each other in the Government: one that aims to tighten the penalties (M5S) and the other (Pd) aimed instead at promoting preventive collaboration between the taxpayer and the tax administration.

A squeeze seems inevitable sui games of chance, while the overcoming of the supeticket healthcare, although everyone agrees in principle, has yet to find the necessary coverage.
On pensions, the dispute remains open between Matteo Renzi, who would like to the total abolition of Quota 100 to recover resources to be allocated to a greater cut in the tax wedge, and Luigi Di Maio, who instead defends the law approved by the previous Lega-Cinque Stelle government with the Democratic Party in the role of mediator.
The deadline on the maneuver is therefore postponed by a week. However, by tomorrow, 15 October, the Government will have to send the European Commission the Budgetary Planning Document which represents the backbone of the maneuver itself. It will be on this document that Brussels will express itself in a month's time.
