Germany resorts to the EU against the ECB

The German Constitutional Court in Karlshure has asked the European Court of Justice to rule on the legitimacy of the Quantitative easing launched in 2015 by the ECB, believing that it exceeds the mandate of the central bank - For the European Commission, however, "everything is in order" and will move consequence and also the German minister Schaeuble defended the ECB

The German Constitutional Court of Karlshure challenges the Quantitative easing launched by the ECB in 2015 and appeals to the European Court of Justice to consider it illegitimate and make it lapse.

The German Court considers that the purchase of government bonds envisaged by the QE violates the ban on directly financing states and exceeds the limits of the mandate of the ECB itself, as shown by the objections of various appellants who prompted the German judges to take this official step partly already announced.

On the other hand, the European Commission is of the opposite opinion, considering Mario Draghi's Qe and the ECB's actions "everything in order" and which will therefore move in defense of Quantitative easinbg during the proceeding. The pronouncement of the German Economy Minister, Scaeuble, who openly declared that he "did not share the opinion of the Constitutional Court" and defended the line of the ECB, was very important.
