The City of Pizza, the great event that has been attracting pizza enthusiasts and connoisseurs to Rome for eight years, is launching a great national competition dedicated to pizza. Un 5-stop tour around Italy which will give the opportunity to many pizza makers to be able to make their art known with the possibility of becoming the protagonists of the Great event in Rome, which will be held from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 October

This year's renewal also responds to the many requests that we received from many pizza makers, who asked us to be able to have the opportunity to participate in our event. The five Italian stages will allow us to reward those who have obtained the highest technical scores among those assigned by our jury. The Selection tour is not just a competition, but above all the possibility of highlighting new pizza talents, who have not yet had the opportunity to make themselves known to the public”.

Five challenges, therefore, where the jury, composed primarily of Luciano Pignataro, Luciana Squadrilli and, from time to time in the various cities, of great master pizza makers, journalists and critics of the sector, will evaluate the contestants on the basis of precise parameters: appearance, aroma, dough, cooking, balance, overall taste, use of ingredients for the topping. Each pizza maker will be asked to prepare two pizzas: a traditional one (margherita or marinara) and a workhorse of the contestant's choice. From each of the five competitions, three winners will emerge who will be entitled to a position in the October appointment in the capital.
First stop a Milan (Monday 20 March). Then it will be time to Florence (Monday 17 April), Naples (Monday 22 May), Palermo (26 June) and finally Bari (Monday 3 July). A ride lasting several months that will bring the finalists directly to Rome, for an edition full of surprises, which will welcome them as well as a large panel of Roman pizza makers and great masters engaged in workshops, labs and top tastings.
