Kitesurfing, paragliding and rafting: it's the summer of extreme sports

The summer calendar of events related to extreme sports has exceeded all the most ambitious expectations this year. The opportunities to closely observe the practitioners of extreme will be more numerous than in past years. Starting with the appointment with the dives from great heights of the Red Bull Cliff Diving, on July 24th at Lake Garda, where the 12 best divers will give a show from the Rocca of the Scaligero Castle in Malcesine. These are dives made from heights greater than those of the highest Olympic platforms, but which do not spare the difficult evolutions of swimming pool competitions.

The event will not be just a show because it will allow anyone to approach this discipline through a diving school directly on the site of the sporting event with the support of the official athletes of the race. The tendency to no longer attract only an audience of spectators, but also of aspiring practitioners of extreme, is now typical of almost all events related to disciplines that fall within the circle of so-called "extreme sports".

THE XNUMX YEAR OLD WITH THE PASSION OF PARAGLIDING

And it is no longer even surprising that there are those who have long since passed "the doors" to try their hand at these enterprises. It is the case of Mario Negri, 93 years old, accountant with a passion for paragliding who has been flying in the skies above Lake Garda since he was 87. Our country also offers one of the widest ranges of take-offs for practicing this sport. It is no coincidence that the Alps and the Apennines are repeatedly chosen as the venue for the world and European free flight championships.

Among the levers of tourism linked to extreme sports, one cannot help mentioning kitesurfing, a beach discipline that is now very popular and in vogue in all the windy areas of the Italian coast. The consecration of this sport, which is practiced pulled by a kite with a surfboard at your feet, took place thanks to the various initiatives connected to the competitions and the presentation of technical clothing, very fashionable even among non-practitioners.

WALK ON THE WATERS OF LAKE TIBERIAS

This year kitesurfing has also infected some celebrities from the entertainment world, such as Kasia Smutniak who, after the death of Pietro Taricone, has returned to life and devoted herself to the extreme sports she shared with her husband. Again thanks to kitesurfing, the 26-year-old Polish Maciek Kozierski, more than two thousand years after the miracle recounted in the Gospel and starring Jesus, repeated the prodigy of walking on the waters of Lake Tiberias. As seen in the photos posted on the Corriere della Sera website, the young man had himself immortalized after a jump, abandoning his equipment and giving the impression of walking on water.

EVEN SHAKIRA CONTAINED BY EXTREME SPORTS

Extreme sports are also very popular on the web. The last to try their hand, complete with video posted on Twitter, it was the Colombian singer Shakira who, together with the Barcelona footballer Gerard Piquè, experienced the thrill of rafting, making the clip one of the most clicked content on the web at the same time.
