Italy on the Move: two stages of the "Invest in Italy" roadshow in the USA

On 11 and 13 January, Italy will be the protagonist of a coast-to-coast from New York to San Francisco as part of the Global Roadshow "Invest in Italy" organized by the ICE-Agency, at the instigation of the Mise, to promote all Italian companies abroad.

The first of the two US stages of the Global Roadshow "Invest in Italy" got underway yesterday in New York, after those organized in Turkey (October 2015) and Japan (November 2015) by ICE-Agency for promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies on the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development.

During the New York stage, the Deputy Minister Carlo Calenda, the President of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Claudio Costamagna and the President of the ICE Agency Riccardo Monti met around 30 potential investors including investment funds and private investors.

Of particular importance was the workshop, organized in collaboration with Bloomberg, "Italy Now: Investment, Opportunity, Impact", which saw the Ambassador of Italy to the United States Claudio Bisogniero alternate at the table of speakers, the Deputy Minister Calenda with a speech on Government policies aimed at attracting and supporting foreign investments and, followed by the Chairman of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Claudio Costamagna, who illustrated the strategic role of CDP in the process of attracting investments in Italy carried out in synergy with Unicredit, represented by Global Chief Economist Erik Nielsen.

The same occasion was useful for deepening the definition of a Memorandum of Understanding between General Electric Avio and the Ministry of Economic Development, the Piedmont Region, the Campania Region and the Puglia Region, with which General Electric Avio intends to study investment opportunities in research and development and production in the three Italian regions for a total of approximately 200 million euros. Tomorrow the delegation will move to San Francisco to take part in the second stage of the Roadshow.

The conference entitled "Healthcare: Italy on the move" will take place in the afternoon, held in conjunction with the JP Morgan Annual Healthcare Conference, the important international meeting dedicated to the biotechnology and life sciences sector.

After the opening speech by Robert Huffines, Managing Director of JP Morgan and Global Head Healthcare, Deputy Minister Calenda will illustrate the Italian industrial policy measures adopted for the sector and aimed at attracting investments in Italy.Further meetings with top executives of large innovative companies such as Google, Apple, Tesla, Pixar, VMware will finally take place on January 14th and 15th.
