A precious calendar of events to find out what's new in the sector. According to the Assobirra Annual Report, Italian beer is among those with the best reputation in Europe, third in the standings. And Italy ranks fourth in Europe for the number of craft breweries behind only the UK, Germany and France.

Italy Beer Week: it starts with an intense calendar of appointments throughout Italy to discover the craft beer planet. A popular event to taste the best Italian labels, find out what's new in the sector, meet the master brewers and learn more about the world of beer, a rapidly evolving sector: in the last 10 years, craft breweries have tripled, exceeding the quota of 1085 in 2022.

After two difficult years due to the pandemic, slowdowns in the supply chain of raw materials and labor shortages, the sector is once again achieving important goals.

On the European market, according to the data related to the production of the Technavio study, it is expected that the share of the craft beer sector will increase by 666,34 million liters by 2025 (+6,20%). Good news, at least in terms of popularity, in general for Italian beer, has been recorded by theAnnual Report by Assobirra, which shows that Italian beer is among those with the best reputation in Europe, third in the standings. Beaten all the countries with a great beer tradition, including Germany, with the exception of Poland and Romania. And while Germany and the UK remain the fastest growing markets, theItaly ranks fourth in Europe for the number of craft breweries only behind the UK, Germany and France.

Tipopils Day

Tipopils Day is back, the widespread event by Birrificio Italiano born to celebrate the original pils with dry hopping! Tipopils is the mother of Italian Pilsener, a beer that has set the standard since 1996. Also this year we will celebrate it in the best clubs in Italy, and for the first time in all of Europe! On 23 March 2023, starting at 19 pm, two special versions of our flagship beer will be served at the same time in selected venues. The first, the one that has accompanied Tipopils Day since the first edition, is the gravity-fed cask with an additional dry hopping made inside the cask itself: a special hop bag containing the blend of hops we use for Tipopils is suspended inside the cask ; for a maximum aromatic yield. The second version is an innovation that we introduced starting from the most recent editions of the event: it is Tipopils in kegs packed with Keg Dry-hopped technology, with free hopping in the keg. Inside the special keykegs, the hops are added without a "protection net" and freely dissolved in the beer: the greater contact surface, and the fact that the hop particles can pass through the liquid in its entirety, allows for an experience of freshness and aromatic impact if possible even more intense.

Three recipes for three brewers – LIVE! 20.00

 Organized by MashOut! Podcast Great live coverage of Mash Out Podcast for Italy Beer Week. On Monday 20 March, starting at 20.00, we will talk about recipes (and of course also about homebrewing) together with Luciano Landolfi from Eastside, Giovanni Faenza from Ritual Lab and Mirko Giorgi from SHIRE Brewing. Everyone will tell us the recipe for one of the brewery's beers.

Presentation Perdu à Turin, collaborative beer between Edit and Fauve

19.00 Organized by Easybräu-Velo. Perdu à Turin is the first beer of the Ballo delle Debutante born from an international collaboration. Thanks to the coordination of Easybräu-Velo, last January the Edit Brewing (Turin) and Fauve (France) breweries met to create together a French-Italian Pilsner, that is a French version of the Italian variant of Pilsner. The protagonists of the recipe are the Barbe Rouge and Mistral hops, two famous varieties developed in France, which the Fauve guys personally brought to Turin on the occasion of the brewing of the Perdu à Turin. The brewers and representatives of Easybräu-Velo will tell us how it is this prestigious collaboration was born, from the first meeting to the creation of the beer. Beer that we will drink together with them as it is present in the box of the Ballo delle Debutante available on the 1001 Birre website.

Organized by Luppolo Made in Italy Locals Only, it is one of the "debutant" beers of Italy Beer Week 2023. Produced by the Umbrian brewery La Gramigna, it is defined as "Italian IPA" because it uses exclusively Italian hops from the Luppolo Made in Italy company, which engages in the cultivation of high quality organic and conventional hops.
