Important news for i residing in Sicily. After the increases in the last few weeks that have affected flights to Trinacria, good news finally arrives for travelers Ita Airways, the airline that took over from Alitalia on 15 October, has joined the project “Sicily Fly” , launched by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility.
The initiative plans to introduce a “social” discount on the cost of airline tickets reserved for residents of Sicily with certain characteristics who travel to and from Catania or from and to Palermo.
Lo discount, equal to 30% of the ticket price, is reserved:
- to off-site students,
- to people with severe disabilities,
- to employees based outside the Region with a gross income not exceeding 25.000 euros,
- to patients who have to undergo hospitalization, check-ups or health care outside Sicily with a gross income not exceeding 25.000 euros.
The discounts will be valid on all national and European routes of the Ita Airways network, to and from the airports of Catania or Palermo, on direct flights to Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate and on those connected to the two hubs.
To take advantage of the discounts you need to register on the platform Sicily Fly, via Spid or Cie. Once done, from the "Management" page, just click on "Request voucher”. At that point, the system will ask you to fill in a self-certification which will allow you to generate the voucher and present it to the airline when purchasing the ticket. The voucher can be used within three days of the generation date. Rates are valid until 31 December 2022.
