In November, inflation decreased by 0,3% on a monthly basis. On an annual basis, however, it increased by 0,7%, with a slight deceleration compared to the trend recorded in October (+0,8%). The prices of the most purchased products, the so-called shopping cart, decreased by 0,1% on a monthly basis, but grew by 0,8% on an annual basis. The Istat detects it.
The slowdown in inflation in November, according to Istat, is attributable to a further attenuation of inflationary dynamics which affects all types of goods and services, with particular intensity for energy goods and fresh food. Net of these, the growth in core inflation remains stable at 1,2% and even net of energy goods alone, it marks the same value recorded in October (+1,1%). Inflation acquired for 2013 remains stable at 1,2%.
Compared to November 2012, the growth rate of the prices of goods rises to 0,2%, from 0,1% in October, and that of the prices of services falls to 1,2% (it was +1,4% in the month previous). Thus, the inflation differential between services and goods narrows by three tenths of a percentage point compared to October 2013.
