Istat, industrial production prices are growing: +0,3% in June, +2,1% compared to July 2011

Istat data record the increase in production prices in industry in July, up by 0,3% compared to last month and by 2,1% compared to July 2011 – On the domestic market +0,4% conjunctural, +2,4% trend – The prices of goods sold on the foreign market remained substantially unchanged.

Producer prices in industry continue to rise. According to the data released from Istat, in fact, in the month of July the index relating to the production prices of industrial products showed an increase of 0,3% compared to June 2012 and by 2,1% compared to the same month of the previous year.

As regards products intended for the domestic market, the price increase was 0,4% compared to the previous month and 2,4% compared to July 2011. Net of the energy sector, the variation decreases decisively: +0,1% on a quarterly basis and +0,6% on a trend basis.

The prices of goods sold on the foreign market, on the other hand, did not show substantial changes compared to June, remaining unchanged for the non-euro area, and growing by 0,1% in the euro area. On a trend basis, growth was 0,9%.

I energy products (+1,4%) make the greatest contribution to the trend growth of the price index of goods sold on the domestic market. As far as the foreign market is concerned, however, in the non-euro area the most significant growth is recorded among intermediate goods (+0,4%), while for the Eurozone, energy and intermediate goods contributed the most to the increase (+0,2%).
