In April, Italian industry recorded growth in both turnover and orders compared to the month of March. It is revealed by theIstat, according to which the turnover marked a 2,1% increase from the previous month, while the orders recorded an increase of 1%.
The growth in turnover is mainly due to the domestic market, which grew by 3,1%. Revenues on the foreign market were substantially stable, +0,2%. The growth in orders is the result of a drop on the domestic market (-3,9%) and a marked increase on the foreign market (+8,1%).
On an annual basis, the total turnover in tendential terms, it recorded a positive variation of 0,1% (+0,1% on the domestic market and -0,1% on the foreign market). The raw turnover index, on the other hand, shows a decrease of 3% on an annual basis, above all due to the decrease in the internal energy component.
In comparison with April last year, the iraw index of orders shows a drop of 11,3%. The greatest decline is observed in the manufacture of means of transport (-29,4%).
