Intesa Sanpaolo launches the XME Pay digital wallet

A new function integrated within the Intesa Sanpaolo Mobile app allows the customer to view and manage cards and accounts, personal documents and loyalty cards. It is a further step forward in offering customers an optimal everyday banking experience: a single application to operate and manage what they need, in a secure, fast and easy-to-use way. The XME Pay digital wallet allows you to make payments in physical shops with your cards from international circuits, by bringing your Android smartphone close to the POS, or with your current account, scanning a QR code on the merchant's smartphone or using the innovative technology ultrasound. For online payments on sites affiliated with Masterpass, customers will receive notifications directly on the app to authorize the payment, without having to enter card details.

Customers will be able not only to pay but also to transfer sums between individuals using the Money Exchange function, in a new chat graphical layout based on the Jiffy service, soon to be integrated into Bancomat Pay, simply by choosing the contact from the address book or by typing in the mobile phone number of the person with whom you are exchanging money. Within XME Pay it will also be possible to manage the images, information and expiry dates of one's own and third-party personal documents, as well as loyalty cards, so as to present them at the time of purchase directly from one's smartphone. Massimo Tessitore, Intesa Sanpaolo's Integrated Multi-channel manager, confirms: «More and more customers consider the smartphone the reference tool for payments and banking operations, made even more secure by biometric recognition. Of our over 7 million digital customers, over 2,5 million use the bank's services via mobile phone. It is therefore essential to enrich the range of available services and ensure ease of use».
