In March 2023 the Interreg program VA Italy-France ALCOTRA 2014-2020. The protagonists will be the territories of the Langhe, Monferrato, Roero and the French Riviera. In the meantime, the Piedmont Region has announced that it will open the European call for art Interreg 2021-2027 from 15 March to 9 June 2023. Thematic networking will be organized by the end of 2022 so that participants can share project ideas and look for new partners. We are talking about projects for the protection and knowledge of art and heritage. Returning to the Piedmont France program, the Italian one Foundation Sandretto Re Rebaudegno and the Frenchwoman Villa Arson they decided to launch the project Perspectives / Perspectives.
Interreg program: the central theme is sustainability and the fight against climate change
A theme that is now accompanied by the commitment of environmental artists and architects. It is no coincidence that the meteorologist, among others, took part in the presentation Luca Mercalli. The changing climate cannot stop the inspiration and the will of painters and sculptors to immerse themselves with their own imagination in the places of real life. Twinnings between Municipalities and governments with actively participating artists, there were also special days against polluting emissions.
Piedmont and France are getting closer on highly topical issues
To promote the protection of the territory, contemporary art has become an extraordinary ally. The natural contexts enriched by artwork attract visitors and investors. If once we were only concerned with organizing outdoor environments with plants, ponds, avenues and ornamental gardens, this is the time for free art to intervene, for authentic creativity that accompanies nature, but at the same time inspires authors. A mix unknown to classical art despite the impressionist painters who fixed landscapes, glimpses, aspects of real life on thousands of canvases. In March, therefore, in two Piedmontese municipalities - Neviglie and Roddino - we will see the works conceived for the project. In Neviglie a sculpture by Jean-Marie Appriou and in Roddino works of Liam Gillick e Hito Steyer. We already know that the latter will paint an ancient building in the village. In the areas around Nice, however, Gino Gianuizzi will coordinate the exhibitions of several artists. In particular of three duos: Stalkers, Drifters and ZimmerFrei) and two singles: Stephanie Nava e Dorte Meyer. In this way, both the Piedmontese and French areas accept the decontextualization of works of art. The same perception of the places for visitors changes, when a valley, a village, a path are embellished by hands extraneous to the existing conformation. The project is stimulating because it takes place in places where nature is experienced with respect and dignity. Finally, the works of art that we will see will be an expressive synthesis between environment and work.
