Ubi Banca investigation, Bazoli: "Unrelated to the facts"

The chairman of the Supervisory Board of Intesa Sanpaolo, Giovanni Bazoli, declares himself "totally extraneous" to the facts for which he is investigated by the Bergamo prosecutor's office (on the initiative of the public prosecutor Fabio Pelosi), relating to the 2013 Ubi Banca shareholders' meeting. The crimes alleged by the prosecutor are those of obstacle to supervision and unlawful influence on the shareholders' meeting.

"With reference to the recent investigative activity ordered by the Bergamo Public Prosecutor's Office, which was reported by the press - says a note - Professor Bazoli observes that it pertains to the same proceeding underway from the past year, declaring its total non-involvement in the facts are the subject of the new investigation prospects".

Just today the men of the special currency unit of the Guardia di Finanza carried out a new series of searches as part of the investigation which sees the heads of the institute Victor Massiah, Franco Polotti and Andrea Moltrasio entered in the book of suspects , in addition to the current president of the supervisory board of Intesa, Giovanni Bazoli.
