For Bankitalia it will be a three-way race. Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, from Brussels, indicated the three candidates to succeed Mario Draghi, freshly appointed to the presidency of the ECB. On the highest seat of Palazzo Koch will go one of Bini Smaghi, Saccomanni and Grilli. Berlusconi also spoke of the maneuver on public accounts: "We will present the maneuver on Thursday in the Cabinet - he said - it will be a limited manoeuvre, it will concern the immediate and it will be prodromal to those that we will present in the future".

Silvio Berlusconi confirms that on Thursday the Council of Ministers will approve the decree on the economic measures and that the choice of the Government for the succession to Mario Draghi at the helm of the Bank of Italy is limited to three names.
