Hotel "cheese", the crazy idea of London

The Cheese Suite has opened in Camden Town, the first hotel room entirely dedicated to cheese: from the wallpaper to the tasting platters, up to… soap.

Imagine a suite dipped in cheese. Someone the hypothesis will shiver, because he doesn't love them or is even intolerant to milk and its derivatives, but for cheese lovers the Cheese Suite in London, open to tourists from Saturday 8 February, could prove to be an earthly paradise. Or at least one more good reason to visit the City, by choosing accommodation with a gastronomic theme.

The curious hotel room is also located in one of the coolest places in the English capital, in the heart of Camden Town: was created by Café Rouge, a French-style restaurant chain that has over 70 locations across the UK, and from the Cuckooz Homes apartment site.

The room, as the name suggests, lives up to expectations and offers a real full immersion in the world of cheese. Everything is in fact themed, from board games to wallpaper, up to accessories and decorations: even the classic "Do not disturb" tag turns yellow and not by chance with the words "We are eating cheese, please do not disturb". There are other puns used on doors and cushions, such as "I'm so fondue you" or "Will you brie mine?".

And then, after having evoked it in every possible way, obviously cheese is also the protagonist of the gastronomic offer: a hotline delivery service is provided for those who even want to order the "midnight" snack, and it is offered a rich welcome platter (the pantry is full of baguettes, camembert and gorgonzola), accompanied by wine and crackers flavored – ça va sans dire – with cheese.

Even the bathroom is themed: perhaps not everyone will find it so pleasant, but so is the Cheese Suite in London the soap has the "scent" of cheese… The initiative also has a charitable value: a one night stay is free (net of food consumed), but guests can choose to donate a portion to charity to The Prince's Trust, the charitable organization founded in 1976 by Prince Charles, and project partner.
