A group of hackers residing in several European countries has been arrested for having implemented the so-called ratting, from the name of the malware "Rat".

They remotely controlled their victims' computers and surreptitiously spied on them through their webcams. For this reason, fifteen people scattered across Great Britain, Estonia, France, Romania, Latvia, Italy and Norway were arrested today. The practice is known as "ratting", from the name of the software that allows you to take control of other people's computers to steal their information: Remote Access Trojans (Rat).

The group of hackers, however, ended up in the hands of the police at the end of a long investigation announced today by the British National Crime Agency, which announced some arrests between Leeds and Chatam, as well as searches in the Liverpool area.

According to the note released by the NCA, “victims are affected by convincing them to click on a link that promises to be a photo or video, but is actually a Rat installation. In many cases, those who have installed such a trojan do not even notice it.”
