Guzzetti (Acri): "Revaluation of Bankitalia quotas helps credit"

SAVINGS DAY - According to Giuseppe Guzzetti, president of ACRI, "A contribution to greater serenity for banks regarding compliance with the parameters of Basel 3, and therefore the possibility of increasing the shares of credit to businesses, could also come from the revaluation of the shares of the Bank of Italy”.

“A contribution to greater peace of mind for banks regarding compliance with the parameters of Basel 3, and therefore the possibility of increasing the credit quotas to businesses, could also come from the revaluation of the quotas of the Bank of Italy, which would result in advantages also to public finance". This was stated by the president of ACRI, Giuseppe Guzzetti, in his speech on World Savings Day.

ALITALIA: THE CDP'S NO IS GOOD

As for the Alitalia dossier, according to Guzzetti, the leaders of the CDP have always operated rigorously, refusing to participate in the rescue. The President of Acri expressed "the full trust and appreciation of the shareholder foundations of the CDP to the president Franco Bassanini and to the CEO Giovanni Gorno Tempini, for their activity aimed at carrying out every useful initiative for the economic and productive recovery of this country, but rigorous in refusing any investment that could compromise the prudent use of the savings of Italians collected by Cdp through post offices and entrusted to Cdp. Their behavior in the recent Alitalia affair was exemplary".

MPS: THE SINGLE CASE OF BANKS-POLITICS

As regards the Montepaschi affair, Guzzetti believes that it was the only case in which politics managed to enter the banks through the foundations: "It doesn't correspond to the truth, except for the one case of Siena - he said -, the statement that through the foundations politics and parties would be introduced into the banks. I challenge those who make these statements to indicate a director, only one, first of all of the three large groups (Intesa Sanpaolo, Unicredit, Ubi Banca) who has these party or political characteristics".
