THEEurogroup postpones the final decision on the release of the new aid plan for Greece. Before the final go-ahead, the economy and finance ministers believe it is necessary to evaluate the results of the proposed exchange and reduction of Greek government bonds which private creditors have to adhere to these days.
“It went well – said the Italian prime minister and economy minister, Mario Monti, at the end of the Eurogroup meeting which took place today in Brussels -. It has been ascertained that Greece has fulfilled the commitments undertaken with the so-called priority actions and the progress of the PSI (Private sector involvement, the plan that provides for the involvement of private creditors in rescuing the country, ed.) will be verified. Next week everything should end positively”.
Also according to the president of the Eurogroup, Jean-Claude Juncker, "Greece has adopted all the measures that were asked of it" and "things are proceeding well".
