Mario Monti leaves the interim at the Treasury: the new Minister of Economy is Vittorio Grilli. From a note from Palazzo Chigi we learn that the Prime Minister has proposed to the Head of State, Giorgio Napolitano, the promotion of the deputy minister to the new number one of Via XX Settembre. Grilli's oath is scheduled for 16,30 pm at the Quirinale.

The Premier has also decided to establish, at Palazzo Chigi, a Committee for the coordination of economic and financial policy, chaired by him. The heads of Economy, Economic Development, Infrastructure and Transport and other competent ministries will be part of it. The Governor of the Bank of Italy, Ignazio Visco, may also be invited to the meetings of the Committee.
