Pension funds Arch, Laborfonds and Pegasus they invested in everything 69 million euros in the Real Economy project: The initiative, promoted by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti together with Assofondipensione and Fondo Italiano d'Investimento Sgr, intends to "provide participating pension funds with the possibility of investing with CDP in diversified instruments with returns suited to their needs and at the same time to support the growth and competitiveness of Italian companies by facilitating the flow of investments towards the real economy” reads a note.

The project consists of "a platform of funds of funds focused on private equity and private debt, managed by Fondo Italiano d'Investimento Sgr and majority-owned by CDP Equity, respectively represented by FOF Private Equity Italia and FOF Private Debt Italia".

CDP has invested 550 million euros in this initiative, of which 300 in FOF Private Equity Italy and 250 in FOF Private Debt Italy. "The Project is characterized by extreme attention to ESG issues", continues the note.

In detail, bow – supplementary pension fund for workers in the wood, cork, furniture, furniture and woodland/forestry, brick and concrete, stone and handles sectors – subscribed a total of 24,4 million euros, of which 12,2 million euros in FoF Private Debt Italy and 12,2 million euros in FoF Private Equity Italy.

labor funds – negotiated supplementary pension fund dedicated to employees of employers operating in the Trentino-Alto Adige area – instead subscribed a total of 30 million euros, of which 20 million euros in the FoF Private Debt Italia and 10 million euros in the FoF Private Equity Italy.

Pegaso – supplementary pension fund for employees of public utility companies – finally subscribed a total of 14,3 million euros, of which 10 million euros in the FoF Private Equity Italy and 4,3 million euros in the FoF Private Debt Italy

"These are the first three investments in the project by Italian pension funds, which are expected to be followed soon by other adhesions by other funds, already in the approval stage", concludes the note.
