Florence opens the FIRSTonline review of events, exhibitions and shows scheduled for New Year's Eve and more generally for the holiday period. The city of art par excellence has a vast calendar of events planned: all will be free of charge and accompanied by that Florentine atmosphere steeped in art, poetry and natural beauty. The concert par excellence on New Year's Eve will be the one that will take place in PPiazzale Michelangelo at the foot of David, with a panoramic view over the red roofs of the big city and a fantastic scenery during the fireworks. The protagonists of the evening will be Baby K, Francesco Renga and Lorenzo Baglioni. Other squares also respond with music, events and entertainment: in Piazza della Signoria a classical concert will take place with the Fiorentina Chamber Orchestra and the Ukrainian Symphony Orchestra of Lugansk, directed by maestro Giuseppe Lanzetta. Also Piazza della Santissima Annunziata will make its large portico available, the work of some of the greatest artists of the past such as Brunelleschi and Leon Battista Alberti. Furthermore, for three years now, the Florentines seem to have invented the 'Party Tour', an impromptu initiative in honor of the great poet and compatriot Dante Alighieri. The Party Tour consists in being able to tour three different discos in the centre, just like Dante did in his Divine Comedy, crossing Hell, Purgatory and Paradise. In PPiazza Strozzi instead, following the screening of the film "Old Man & The Gun" (Odeon cinema), the celebrations arrive. The Municipality of Florence has made available a website with insights into concerts, mobility and public transport.

- Verdi Theatre from 28 December 2018 to 15 January 2019: “Panariello, Conti and Pieraccioni The Show”
- Puccini Theater on 30 and 31 December: “The Best Of” with Katia Beni and Anna Meaci. An unprecedented and original show, which highlights all the talent of two artists, real clowns of the stage.
- Teatro della Pergola from 27 December 2018 to 2 January 2019: "Upside down" with Emilio Solfrizzi and Paola Minaccioni. The characters, in addition to talking normally to each other, express their thoughts aloud. The effect is disruptive and transforms a common story into a labyrinth of gestures and words.
- Cestello Theater on 31 December: "Il Giornalino di Gian Burrasca" by Vamba
- Reims Theater from 22 December 2018 to 13 January 2019: “Noises off stage” by Michael Frayn
- Le Laudi Theater on 31 December: "The bourgeois gentleman of Molière" by Stefano Tamburini
- Rifredi Theatre from 28 to 31 December 2018: “Chefs” with Susana Cortés, Antonio de la Fuente, César Maroto, Rubén Hernandez. It is a hilarious parody of the new collective craze for haute cuisine.
Trade shows:
- Palazzo Strozzi from 21 September 2018 to 20 January 2019: “Marina Abramović” who defines herself as the “Grandmother of performance art”.
- Palazzo Medici Riccardi from 19 October 2018 to 24 February 2019: “This is not a photo opportunity”. The exhibition comes from a selection of the best 20 images produced so far. Banksy represents the best evolution of the original Pop Art, the only one that has merged serial multiplication, hip hop culture, eighties graffiti and digital time approaches.
- Aula Magliabechiana of the Uffizi from 30 October 2018 to 20 January 2019: "The Leicester Code of Leonardo da Vinci", is an absolutely great preview of Leonardo's celebrations that will take place all over the world in 2019 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of his death.
- Santo Stefano al Ponte from 6 December 2018 to 31 March 2019: "Van Gogh and the Maledetti". Santo Stefano al Ponte is transformed into the "Cathedral of the image". The images will be projected onto the walls of the former church, allowing visitors to enjoy Giambologna's altar, Buontalenti's balcony and the earthen tombs.
- The Armadillo Atelier from 29 November 2018 to 5 January 2019: “Elizabeth Burton: Pages of Art, stories in images”. Books, paintings and watercolors by the Australian artist are on display.
- Studio Etra Tommasi from 30 November 2018 to 6 January 2019: "The rose and time". It is an exhibition of Claudio Sacchi's most unpublished works.
- Pancakes Contemporary Art from 20 December 2018 to 19 February 2019: “Pino Trademark. Graphic works by Pino Pascali”. It is an event that occurs fifty years after the death of one of the greatest Italian artists of the post-war period.
- Venerable Archconfraternity of Mercy in Piazza Duomo from 8 December 2018 to 6 January 2019: “Bertini. De rerum pictura”.
- Mentana Art Gallery from 15 December 2018 to 31 January 2019: “Contiguous Horizons”.
