Flashback 2019: “All art is contemporary”

Until 3 November at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, 50 galleries will exhibit valuable works (painting, sculpture and decorative arts) seamlessly between ancient and contemporary. Born in 2013 from the intuition of Stefania Poddighe and Ginevra Pucci, with the aim of building a place of visual culture that would unite culture and the market in a single solution, without constraints of space and time. Flashback proposes an approach to the art of continuity between ancient and contemporary, that is the meaning of motto of the event: "all art is contemporary" and is inspired by the conceptual research of Gino De Dominicis on the theme of the immortality of the work of art.

The 2019 edition is dedicated to the WANDERERS who, with the previous titles the Enigma of time, The Labyrinth, The Energy, In the Inverse sense, New Syncretism and the Shores of another sea are the chapters of a single story.

We are the characters, chrononauts of art and in art, vagabonds in its eternal present, wandering users, mysterious people who have the habit of meddling in the history (past and future) of all peoples. The title of this seventh edition is inspired by a science fiction novel dated 1986 by the pair of Soviet writers Arkadij and Boris Strugatsky. For Flashback these Wanderers in and of time are Gli Errant / The Wanderers.
Flashback is an art fair for 4 days and "Opera Viva" for 365 days a year. The latter is a special project conceived by the artist Alessandro Bulgini who, after declaring the fair and all the masterpieces presented "Opera Viva", left the fair spaces to enter the territory.

During the days of the fair there are numerous artistic proposals: from Flashback sound, the schedule dedicated to music that ranges between past and present; Storytelling flashbacks, a project that promotes, through narration, the active relationship between the public and art; flashback talks, program of meetings with themes ranging over time, from antiquity to modernity and vice versa; Video flashbacks, a program dedicated to moving images, from video art to documentaries; Flashback art class, lessons in the history of "entirely contemporary" art.
Flashback is an important one opportunity for collectors, but also a good amplifier of thought-provoking urban art projects.
