Finmeccanica, it's open warfare: Marina Grossi on the barricades

In Finmeccanica it has come to open warfare. Marina Grossi, wife of the chairman Guarguaglini, and managing director of Selex, the company that ended up under investigation for the Enav bribes, rejected the request sent to her in writing by the managing director of the parent company, Giuseppe Orsi, to resign during the meeting of the Board of Directors convened urgently this morning. Grossi, despite the request to leave the position of CEO of Selex, as she is being investigated for the round of bribes discovered by the judiciary connected to the supply contracts obtained by Enav, did not mention the letter during the Board meeting, let alone her willingness to resign to safeguard the good name of the company.

After all, seven people sit on the Selex board: three independents (ie appointed directly by Guargaglini and his director of external relations, Borgogni), three directly from Finmeccanica and Grossi itself. So in fact, Finmeccanica does not have the majority of the Board and Grossi can thus easily disregard the indications coming from the parent company.

Naturally, the request for Grossi's resignation made by the new CEO of Finmeccanica is a real showdown against the same president Guarguaglini who controversially did not participate in the last board meeting which revealed a loss of 324 million euros in nine months. Now the tug of war directly involves his wife at the head of Selex, an electronics company that has long been under observation within the Finmeccanica world for its certainly not brilliant results.

What will happen at this point? Upon Orsi's return from the United States, a new Board of Finmeccanica will be held and the fate not only of Grossi, but probably of President Guarguaglini himself will be decided in that meeting.
