FinecoBank wins among shares, Banca Imi among bonds. In a very complicated 2018 for the financial markets, in which the main stock indexes recorded double-digit losses (FTSE Mib -16,10%, FTSE Italia Star -16,60%) and bond indexes showed a sharp contraction in negotiations (MOT -17,76%, EuroTLX -39,45%, HiMTF -33,56%), Assosim sums up a difficult year, crowning the intermediaries who despite everything managed to achieve positive performances.
The association of intermediaries for the financial markets (Assosim) presented the usual in Milan annual transaction report carried out by its Associates on the markets managed by Borsa Italia, Eurotlx, Hi-Mtf, Equiduct and by some intermediaries in the role of Systematic Internalisers, drawing up internal classifications divided by segments.
THE CLASSIFICATION OF THE SHARES
The ranking of the shares elaborated by aggregating the volumes traded by the intermediaries associated on behalf of third parties on MTA and EQUIDUCT, as well as on any systematic internalisers managed, sees Finecobank in first place, with a market share of 24,75%. On the second step of the podium, with a strong gap, however, is Banca Imi with a share of 10,30%; followed by IwBank with 9,24%).
Finecobank and Banca Imi conquer the same positions also in the ranking relating to the number of transactions, with market shares of 22,38% and 13,01% respectively, while the third place in this case is occupied by Banca Akros with its 7,98 .XNUMX%.
As far as the stock market is concerned, Assosim points out that "the total value of trades on the Borsa Italiana stock market, equal in absolute value to 626 billion euros, decreased by 0,41% compared to 2017, while the number of traded contracts, equal to 71 million, grew by 1,37%. The concentration of trading on the stock market managed by Borsa Italiana on FTSE MIB securities is growing slightly. Compared to 2017, the percentage of trades on the main index stood at 88,70% from 87,70%".
THE RANKING OF BONDS
As regards bonds, the ranking of the volumes traded by the associated intermediaries on behalf of third parties on DomesticMOT, EuroMOT, ExtraMOT, Eurotlx and Hi MTF, as well as on the systematic internalisers managed by each of them, crowns Banca Imi with a market share of 21,18 ,17,46%. Banca Akros is second, with 10,57%; Invest Banca third, XNUMX%.
In the ranking by number of operations: Banca Imi "wins" with 24,09%, Banca Akros reaches second place with 17,09%, Unicredit Bank Ag third with 9,53%.
