Finally Brunello: Brunello di Montalcino definitely focuses on the USA

Restart from Il Gattopardo, the Italian restaurant in the former Aquavit space of the Rockefeller Townhouses at 11-13 W. 54th St. in full midtown, New York, the new strategy for the penetration of Brunello di Montalcino in the US market.

On March 22 the appointment is with Finally Graduating: Class of '16, dedicated to the 2016 vintage of Brunello, already brought under the spotlight of American sector critics who spoke about it extensively in enthusiastic terms. In direct contact with journalists and oenologists gathered in the restaurant in New York – in the presence, among others, Silvia Limoncini, Deputy Consul General and Antonino Laspina, Italian Trade Commissioner in the US market -, the story on the denomination will be told by the president of the Consortium of Brunello di Montalcino wine, Fabrizio Bindocci. Also in connection with the Italian Ambassador to the United States, Armando Varricchio.

“New York is the most representative American market for Brunello di Montalcino – said the president of the Tuscan consortium, Fabrizio Bindocci -, and restaurants have historically been the natural channel for the penetration of our wines in the USA. From a survey we carried out at the beginning of 2020 with Nomisma Wine Monitor, in the Big Apple there are in fact almost 2 Brunello references in the 350 top restaurants".

Finally Brunello's calendar continues in the presence of May with tastings dedicated to New York stakeholders. Among the tastings, the one organized by the Wine Media Guild, which will see the participation of 40 journalists from the trade press, which will be followed by those led byInstitute of Culinary Education of New York University and the James Beard foundation, the latter expected in May with 25 participants each. It also opens up on Instagram with live broadcasts in the company of Wanda Mann, Certified Specialist of Wine and wine blogger and founder of Wine With Wanda, who will lead the virtual tastings scheduled for March 25 and April 1.

The promotion project of the Consortium will close with the Brunello week (from 14 to 20 June), where in over 30 top New York restaurants Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino will be protagonists of culinary pairings and tastings also by the glass. In the same week there will also be a focus on Rosso di Montalcino in the role of 'young' ambassador of the territory in two exclusive club houses, the Core House and the Soho Club. Also in this case, the program includes tastings by the glass combined with typical local dishes for around 60 guests in attendance (www.finallybrunello.com).
