Family economy: society and shareholder risks

VIDEO- The FamilyMI project, created by the Global Thinking Foundation in collaboration with the Foundation for Financial Education and Savings, together with the Milan Polytechnic Foundation, was born from the need to offer support to the debate on financial evolution and the so-called " financial inclusion” to the families of Millennials (born between 1980 and 2000). By offering an explanatory and exhaustive means of rearranging the concepts that make up today's finance, we intend to include subjects who are unable to independently access the most common financial perspectives, in terms of services and facilities normally dedicated to risk groups, especially families of the Millennials.

Family economy: society and shareholder risks

When you find yourself at a crossroads in life…

Diego, the protagonist of this video, decides to buy 5.000 shares of the TDF company, for a value of €10.000. Diego is oriented towards this choice because TDF is in a phase of expansion in the textile market and enjoys a great reputation. Unfortunately for our protagonist, however, at the expiry of the first year the results are not as expected, the company is making a loss, the shareholders cannot count on dividends and are witnessing a sharp depreciation in the value of the shares. At this point, as explained in our Glossary with over 1200 exercises: Redooc, Diego finds himself at a crossroads: sell the shares and capitalize on a loss, or wait still hoping for the recovery of the textile market. Each choice requires a careful collection of information before and after the investment in order to make the best choice in the face of difficult moments on the market and/or one's own needs.
