Export and Covid19: a help-desk for Italian companies

Le Chambers of Commerce companies have created a new service to help companies working on international markets overcome the coronavirus crises. It's about a help desk which can be accessed by sending an email to emergencycovid@sostegnoexport.it.

Promoted by Unioncamere in collaboration with Promo Italy, the service is designed as an initial assistance to resolve legal, customs, contractual and tax issues related to foreign trade in times of pandemic.

Indeed, it is necessary to take into account new procedures related to the export, logistics and transport of goods (also monitoring the situation at the borders of the various European countries). In addition, several countries have introduced new regulations to counter the infection.

The help-desk is also designed as a compass for identifying new opportunities on markets least affected by the coronavirus or, in perspective, in the countries that will emerge from the crisis before the others. The main tool to use is of course e-commerce.

The desk also makes use of the collaboration of Assocamerestero and the network of Italian chambers of commerce abroad.

Information on Italy's main partner countries is available through the portal of the Six Project, where there are orientation services for foreign markets and the definition of pre-feasibility plans for exports, but also a calendar of information webinars (divided by sector, by country and by theme) for companies that will start from the month of May.

The integrated help desk service joins the other initiatives that the Chambers of Commerce have already proposed to support companies operating abroad in this emergency phase. Among these, there was recently the certification of the cause of force majeure issued in English by the Chambers of Commerce in the event of delays in international deliveries, to protect companies which today the health emergency does not allow to respect the contracts supply to foreign customers.
