Eurizon, after GSA enters the capital of Adria Ferries

The second acquisition of Eurizon. The Asset Manager of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group with assets of 426 billion euros has signed an agreement for the purchase of 33,3% of the shipping company Adria Ferries through the two alternative investment funds Eurizon ITE and Eurizon ITE ELTIF. The operation will be finalized once the authorizations of the competent authorities have been obtained and will be aimed at promoting the company's dimensional growth in the future.

Also through the Investment Funds, Eurizon had acquired control of 70% of the Servizi Associati Group (GSA), a leading operator in Italy in the prevention of fires in infrastructures such as tunnels, hospitals, shipyards, ports and railway stations.

In detail, Adria Ferries offers a maritime connection service between Italy and Albania with a fleet of ships for the transport of vehicles and passengers. To date wholly owned by Equinox Holding srl and led by the entrepreneur Alberto Rossi. Furthermore, with respect to the stake acquired at the closing, the two Eurizon ITE funds will have an option to further invest in Adria Ferries, for an additional 10% stake in the company's capital, which can be exercised by 31 December 2023.

The presence of Eurizon in the shareholding structure - explains a note - will allow the company to give an important boost to the path of growth and industrial development already started in recent years and, at the same time, to strengthen the skills to be able to seize investment opportunities aimed at further consolidating the value of the Company at a national and international level.

For Eurizon, strategies on alternative markets in support of the real economy have taken on growing importance in terms of supporting the productive fabric. In the current context, above all, interventions to support infrastructures are an increasingly strategic factor in Italy, as well as abroad.
