The Esselunga group closed 2013 with sales of over 6,9 billion euros, marking an increase of 1,7% on an annual basis. The operating result is estimated at over 300 million euros, down on the previous year (367,4 million euros), also as a result of the pricing policy applied.
Esselunga, according to a note, maintained the same prices for its customers as in 2012, ie it sold at zero inflation, while suppliers applied increases of 1,8%.
The workforce is still growing, reaching 2013 people in 20.605, with an increase of over 400 units. In the two-year period 2014 - 2015, as a result of the development plan and the updating of the network, approximately 2 people are expected to be hired.
