Ericsson to cut 4 jobs

Telecom operator Ericsson has announced to the Swedish government the suppression from 3.000 to 4.000 employees, a decision that should be made public tomorrow, as anticipated by Swedish public television Svt. The Swedish group's difficulties are well known: it regularly disappoints investors and has always been looking for a new boss since it fired Hans Vestberg in July.

“The government has been informed of Ericsson's plans, which consist of implementing the largest economic plan in its recent history. A fifth of the employees will have to leave the group” in Sweden, Svt wrote on his website, citing a source close to the dossier. Ericsson's workforce totaled 116.500 worldwide as of June 30. Since June, the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper had said the operator planned to cut the figure from 3.000 to 4.000.
