Eni awarded for oil and gas discoveries

The six-legged dog won the Petroleum Economist Award, an award established in 2006 by the Petroleum Economist, as Exploration Company of the Year – In the last 7 years Eni has made discoveries for over 10 billion barrels of resources. In particular, in the last 3 years Eni has made 5 major discoveries.

Eni awarded for oil and gas discoveries

Eni announces that it has won the Petroleum Economist Award, an award established in 2006 by the Petroleum Economist, as Exploration Company of the Year. During a ceremony held last night in London, a panel of independent experts representing all sectors of the world of energy, led by OPEC secretary general Abdalla Salem El-Badri, presented Eni with the award recognizing to the company an innovative approach to exploration activities together with a unique ability to pursue its business interests successfully, often in challenging environments. 

In the last 7 years Eni has made discoveries for over 10 billion barrels of resources. In particular, in the last 3 years Eni has made 5 major discoveries, the last of which in the Egyptian offshore of the Mediterranean Sea, with the discovery of the supergiant gas field of Zohr. This discovery is the largest ever made in Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea and could become one of the largest in the world. 

In 2011 Eni made the largest natural gas discovery in the company's history in Area 4 of the Mozambique offshore. Other recent discoveries have been made in the pre-salt themes of West Africa, in Congo, Gabon, Angola, Norway and Ecuador.
