Energy, from 1 January double cut for electricity and gas bills

This was announced by the Energy Authority, specifying that for the typical family the savings will be 1,2% for electricity and 3,3% for gas – “The reduction for electricity is essentially due to a strong decrease in overall procurement costs”.

Energy, from 1 January double cut for electricity and gas bills

From January 2016 January XNUMX comes a double drop for energy bills. This was announced by the Energy Authority, specifying that for the typical family (average electricity consumption of 2.700 kWh per year and a committed power of 3 kW) the electricity bill will record a drop of 1,2%, while for the gas bill the decrease will be even more significant, with a -3,3%, confirming overall savings over the 12 months of almost 60 euros.

Bills: -1,2% electricity, -3,3% gas

The "double reduction" for energy bills was decided by the Authority with "the update of the reference economic conditions for families and small consumers under protection for the first quarter of 2016". «For electricity - explains the Authority - the expenditure for the typical family in the rolling year (1st April 2015 - 31st March 2016) will be around 505 euros, with a drop of 1,4% compared to the 12 equivalent months of the previous year (April 1, 2014 – March 31, 2015), corresponding to a saving of approximately 7 euros. For gas, the average family's expenditure for the same period will be approximately 1.093 euros, with a reduction of -4,4%, corresponding to a saving of around 50 euros compared to the rolling year». The total savings in the 12 months in the so-called "rolling year" for electricity and gas "will therefore be 57 euros per typical family".

In the first quarter of 2016 "the reduction for electricity is essentially due to a sharp drop in overall procurement costs of the 'energy matter' which reflects the price dynamics on the wholesale market, a slight downward adjustment of system charges and a slight decrease in transmission, distribution and metering tariffs; declines partly counterbalanced by an increase in the components relating to the marketing activity of the retail". Also for gas "the marked reduction is substantially due to the sharp drop in the raw material component which reflects the market trend and, in particular, the downward expectations reflected in the forward quotations in the wholesale markets in Italy and in Europe for the next quarter (with expected prices more than 10% lower than the expectations incorporated in the prices recorded just three months ago with reference to the same period, also reversing the normal cyclical nature linked to seasonality)».
