Enel X, together with the real estate company Related Companies have announced the launch of the largest battery energy storage system in New York. The 4,8 MW/16,4 MWh “in front of the meter” storage facility is located at Related's Gateway Center in East New York, Brooklyn and will serve to support the New York Power Company's local grid, Con Edison, in periods of peak demand, helping to guarantee a reliable service.

“New York is a complex and densely populated market that is constantly growing and requires innovative technologies to meet ever new energy challenges. Enel X has been selected by Con Edison as part of the Brooklyn-Queens Neighborhood program of the New York power company.
