A new package of government measures is ready for the next few weeks, "the most important thing is that we want to significantly lower the cost of electricity which is really excessive in our country". This was stated by the Minister of Economic Development Flavio Zanonato on the sidelines of the Rimini Meeting.
“Electricity costs more – explained Zanonato – because we pay many incentives for renewables. This is not a negative fact but the cost can be reduced by spreading the levy on Italian bills over a longer period. Instead of withdrawing 12 billion euros, 9 billion can be taken and the rest deferred over a longer period”.
The minister also explained that work is underway on a series of simplifications, from Sistri to the type of controls linked to the Robin tax.
