The deadline for requesting an economic contribution linked to the national mechanism of White Certificates on the "efficiency.eneldistribuzione.it" portal has been postponed to December 31, intended for those who intend to carry out or have carried out for no more than four months interventions to improve the energy efficiency of the own home or business.
On the portal, active since the end of September, the largest number of requests came from private individuals (91%) followed by those presented by professionals and sole proprietorships (5%) and by companies and businesses (2,5%). Lombardy is the Region from which the most applications have come, followed by Triveneto, Piedmont and Emilia Romagna.
The initiative mainly involved the domestic sector, while the industry was largely absent. Most of the documentation received mainly concerned work on the building envelope: first of all, the insulation of the walls and roofs, followed by the replacement of simple glazing with double glazing. On the contrary, the least presented type of intervention was that relating to the installation of inverters on electric motors, despite the potential economic contribution that can reach over 3.300 euros, gross of any withholding taxes.
The interventions that can obtain the grant are the replacement of simple glazing with double glazing, the installation of 4-star efficiency single-family boilers, the installation of electric heat pumps with external air, the thermal insulation of roofs and walls , the use of solar collectors and, in the industrial sector, the installation of electronic frequency regulation systems for electric motors operating on pumping systems. Individuals, professionals, businesses, non-profit associations and condominiums will be able to take advantage of the contribution.
All the information and documentation relating to the incentivized interventions will be collected and aggregated by Enel Distribuzione which will submit them to the Electricity and Gas Authority for obtaining the relative White Certificates. Therefore, anyone, even if not authorized to access the White Certificates mechanism, will be able to obtain an economic benefit linked to the intervention carried out.
The possible extension of the initiative for 2013, also extended to other types of interventions, will depend on the evolution of the energy efficiency policies adopted in Italy.
